A Career Dedicated to Public Safety
Anthony “AJ” Rawlings serves as the Lead Instructor and Security Analyst behind our safety protocols. His career spans 29 years in law enforcement and security analysis, providing a unique perspective on crisis prevention and response.
Law Enforcement Background
Rawlings spent 21 years as a Police Investigator, working across diverse investigative groups including narcotics, robbery, homicide, the youth squad, and school detective units. Prior to his investigative work, he served 8 years in the patrol unit. He continues to serve the citizens of Atlanta today as a reserve police officer.
Security Analysis & School Safety
In 2008, Rawlings began his tenure as a Security Analyst for the 5-0 Protective Agency, where he provided security assessments and safety plans for private schools, businesses, and individuals.
Since 2009, he has served as a Security Analyst for the Atlanta Public School (APS) system. In this capacity, he acts as a lead instructor, overseeing safety coordination for 99 schools and 100 APS Safety Coordinators.
Developing Standards
Rawlings was instrumental in developing the first formal training program for School Safety Coordinators in the region. He co-authored the training manual “Understanding How to Construct a School Safety Plan,” written specifically for Atlanta Public Schools.
